New metric: Total Engagement Time now available in Compass

Total Engagement Time is now available in Compass. It shows the total time your audience collectively spends with your content, combining reach and depth of attention into one number. It is also available as a KPI in Playbooks.

Cross-referencing separate engagement metrics to understand true audience attention adds friction. This metric combines average time-on-page with unique pages visited into a single view, so you can compare content depth across sections and time periods without extra work.

Here’s how you can get started:

  • Find Total Engagement Time in your Compass analytics views, alongside existing engagement metrics
  • Add it as a KPI in Playbooks to factor engagement depth directly into your content strategy analysis
  • Use it alongside Engagement Rate to tell high-traffic content apart from high-quality content

Reach tells you how many people visited. Total Engagement Time tells you how much they cared.
