Roll-up account data rules and limitations
Roll-up accounts aggregate data from multiple child accounts into a single view. They share the same feature set as child accounts, with the following rules and restrictions.
Data aggregation
Section titled “Data aggregation”- A roll-up account cannot be a source for another roll-up account.
- A child account can be aggregated to multiple roll-up accounts.
- A roll-up account can only access data from its child accounts. It does not collect data itself. Any event tracked on a roll-up accountId is discarded at ingest time.
- Roll-up accounts contain all data from their child accounts starting on the date each child property begins collecting data.
- When a child property is disconnected from a roll-up, historical data from that child property disappears from the roll-up.
To learn how to connect or disconnect child accounts, see the parent account management guide.
Activation and experiences
Section titled “Activation and experiences”Data activation features are fully disabled on roll-up accounts. No experiences or recommenders can be triggered from a roll-up account.
User management
Section titled “User management”Roll-up accounts do not inherit users from child accounts. User management is completely independent. For details on how to combine data from multiple accounts and manage access separately, see the roll-up accounts overview.
User data independence
Section titled “User data independence”Marfeel aggregates data from individual child accounts into a single roll-up, but it does not perform user reconciliation across accounts. Metrics like User Loyalty and unique users honor the data on the child accounts.
All Marfeel tools remain available in the same way. No extra complexity is added. You get all the data from multiple accounts and analyze it the way you already know.
Timezone behavior
Section titled “Timezone behavior”A roll-up account has an associated timezone.

Frequently asked questions
