What is the difference between user roles and data restrictions?

User roles define which features and modules a user can access, while data restrictions control which specific data (authors, sections, hosts) a user can see within those features.

Can user roles be combined?

Yes, roles can be combined to customize individual user access. For example, a user can have both the Analyst and Advertising Manager roles to access analytics data along with monetization metrics. You can also assign roles at scale through Teams.
